Structured Cabling & Data Networking

Structured Cabling & Data Networking

Permanent cabling and rack work that cameras, phones and WiFi can grow on without rewiring the building.

Network plant

The network plant behind every connected system.

Structured cabling is the backbone for CCTV, access, intercom and wireless. We design Cat6 / Cat6A (and Cat7 where the brief calls for it), fibre where distance or backbone needs it, data points, patch panels and racks — labelled, tested and ready for the next device.

Structured network cabling and rack infrastructure

Infrastructure scope

Cabling and network work we typically deliver

  1. 01

Structured data cabling for desks, cameras, phones and access points

  2. 02

Cat6, Cat6A and Cat7 runs where the site brief and distance require them

  3. 03

Data-point installation and additional points on existing plant

  4. 04

Cabling diagnostics and repairs when ports fail or links stay unreliable

  5. 05

Fibre-optic cabling for backbones and longer building links

  6. 06

Network installation and troubleshooting support for switches and plant

  7. 07

Patch panels, server and telecommunications racks, and cable management

  8. 08

Coordination with CCTV, access, intercom and WiFi so one riser serves multiple systems

Infrastructure benefits

Why structured cabling beats ad-hoc wiring

  • 01

    Cat6 / Cat6A / Cat7 & fibre

Category and fibre choices matched to distance, PoE load and growth — not a one-size drop for every wall.

  • 02

    Data points & diagnostics

New points installed cleanly, and existing plant tested when links drop so faults are fixed instead of patched around.

  • 03

Racks, patch panels & cable management

Organised terminations with labelling and service access so every port has a documented destination.

  • 04

    Network install & support

Switch capacity, PoE and routes considered with the security and WiFi brief — including help when the plant misbehaves later.

Where cabling matters

Sites that benefit from proper data infrastructure

  • New offices and fit-outs
  • Homes and workplaces adding data points
  • Existing buildings needing tidy rewiring or fault repair
  • Sites preparing for CCTV, NBN or WiFi expansion
  • Multi-floor commercial premises and shared risers

Equipment & system considerations

Cable, switches and rack hardware are specified to match the site brief. Exact brands and models are confirmed in your quote.

In the rack

Labelled plant you can expand without starting over.

How cabling projects run

From survey to tested ports

  1. 01

    Pathway survey

We map risers, ceilings and cupboards, then agree drop density and rack location before pulling cable.

  2. 02

    Design & materials

You get a clear schedule of runs, panels and rack layout with a fixed-scope quote.

  3. 03

    Pull, terminate & test

Cable is pulled, terminated to patch panels and tested so every port has a known destination.

  4. 04

    Documentation handover

Labelling and a simple port map leave the site ready for cameras, phones, WiFi or future expansion.

Cabling questions

Common questions about structured cabling

  • It is a planned network of fixed data cables, patch panels and racks that connects devices across a building in an organised, labelled way.
